At the City Palace ticket counter you can also buy tickets for sunset boat ride in the lake Pichola. The sunset boar ride which cost Rs 500 will take you around the palace and then to the Jagmandir which is a small island in the lake.

The sunset boat ride starts at Rameshwar Ghat within the palace from 4pm but try to get the boat around sunset, so that you can enjoy the view. There are private operators also who offer the boat ride at lower rates but they do not take you to the Jagmandir.
