Fateh Sagar Lake
Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake built by Maharana Jai Singh in 1687 and later reconstructed by Maharana Fateh Singh in 1988.
In the middle of the lake there is a small island, Nehru Park. You can visit this park on a motor boat which runs at an interval of 15-20 minutes. The two way ticket for the boat is Rs 30.
There is also Udaipur Solar Observatory (OSO) located on a small island in the lake. Amid the water the location has a technical advantage. It is one of the best observatories in Asia.
If you like water sports then there are speed boats and water scooters available for hire. The water is calm and the surroundings are peaceful.
It is pleasant to visit the park surrounded with water and beautiful views. The park is well maintained and there is a restaurant located at the end of the pier. When we visited around 2:00 pm there was no crowd but as we were leaving there was a long queue at the shore. I guess people come to the park to see the sunset.
There is a restaurant at the end of this pier. Drinking a cup of coffee while watching sunset would to be a great idea.
