Madikeri Local

After returning to Madikeri, we went for lunch at a small restaurant named Atithi. By the time we got there, lunch time was over so only snacks were available. I ordered Masala Dosa, and it was the best I have ever had. On the menu I saw that the price of coffee and tea were same; welcome to the land of coffee!!

We went shopping after lunch. Prakash took us to a shop named Coorg Greens. It was filled with coffee, honey, spices, homemade chocolates and other local specialties. The sales boys were young and very friendly. Despite the crowd, they were eager to show us products and offer samples. My mother-in-law bought coffee, honey and some spices.

We also went to the local market for grocery supplies. The shop at resort is a small one and keeps just a limited stock. We thought to buy noodles, pasta and some other readymade items. I also purchased a woolen cap for my upcoming early morning photo session.

Prakash dropped us at the resort round 6:30 pm. He said that in the morning we should leave for the Dubare elephant camp by 8:00 – 8:30 am if we wanted to see elephant bathing. Damn!!! Can’t they keep few lazy ones who don’t bath until noon or so!!

In our apartment, I heard Joohi shouting inside the bedroom, “Ashesh, bring the camera”. When I got there, there were two swans made out of towel on our bed. During our stay, every day we found something on the bed that had been skillfully crafted from towels.

For dinner we again went to Coffee Blossom, but the experience was not pleasant. The Malai Kofta was horrible, the gravy as thin as daal. Whatever praise they earned yesterday was all negated.

When I went to bed, I was all set for tomorrow morning’s photo shoot. There was not going to be a sunrise view but still dawn is beautiful anywhere.
