We had reached the last day of our vacation!!!

We woke up early and had breakfast in the apartment. The club mahindra resort executives had mentioned that checkout does not take much time and they were correct. We left the resort at 8:30 am.

It was a cloudy day. We were happy that we had been able to enjoy our vacation in a lovely weather.

On the way, Prakash with his broken English was able to convince my mother-in-law to stop at one of the silk stores in Mysore. We had a half hour stop in Mysore at a state managed handicraft store.

The time used at the silk store cut into our lunch time, so we decided to have it in Bengaluru. As we left Mysore, it started to rain. It was not raining heavily, but the luggage was stored at the top, so we asked Prakash to put on a cover on it.

Near the city of Bengaluru, I received an SMS on my phone from Indigo airlines about a delay in the departure of our scheduled flight. Rescheduled from 5:05 pm to 5:40 pm,.we now had an extra half hour to spare, although Bengaluru city had other plans for us.

Despite taking the bypass, the traffic jam took more than an hour. It was already 3:15 pm and, although we might have started to worry, thanks to another SMS, our departure time was now 8:10 pm. We stopped at the Gokul restaurant for lunch. It was a nice vegetarian restaurant with menu that included both North and South Indian food.

It was drizzling when we reached the airport. We thanked Prakash for his service. I gave back the feedback form (provided by his agency), and told him that I have written very good things about him. I wonder if he understood me or if he tore up the form on his way back. My father-in-law gave him a generous tip.

The last SMS from Indigo airlines said 8:30 pm but I was no longer interested. I was even prepared for flight cancelation or a diversion. The delay was due to heavy fog in Delhi earlier that morning, which had an understandable ripple effect.

Thankfully the Indigo guys did their best, and by 9:30 pm we boarded on a flight back to Delhi. The night was reasonably clear. We landed on Delhi airport at around 12:00 am (instead of scheduled 7:45 pm). Our driver, Amit was at the airport to pick us up.

At 1:15 am we opened the door to our home sweet home. The celebrations were still on as it was the last day of the year!!!
